REVIEW: 21 Kilometers Coffee and Tatang's Extra Crispy Boneless Lechon

Yesterday, my husband and I took a one-hour drive to 21 Kilometres Coffee after work, around 8 AM. It was a very relaxing drive, cruising at just 30-50 km/hr, which was exactly what I needed after a hectic week. Thanks to my wonderful husband for making it happen! Here's my review of the place:

The Place: 7/10
The chairs were a bit uncomfortable. Since it was raining, we were seated at the tables with a better view, but to order again, you have to go to the counter, which requires walking through an uncovered area, so you get wet. We would've ordered more food if not for this. Also, the restroom wasn’t cleaned, probably because it was too early.

The Service: 10/10
Everyone was super nice. I took a picture of my husband at the counter, which might have made the staff uncomfortable. My apologies—the photo only shows their foreheads.

The Food: 10/10
We ordered three items, and they were all delicious. The French toast was incredibly soft, with runny syrup and a touch of cinnamon. The bacon was salty, just how we like it.

Banana Pancake with Bacon - Php 140

Our ride! I love our motorcycle rides!

French Toast Panini with Bacon, Egg, and Side Salad - Php 140

Twinning with the hubby! I love my green socks.

The greenery!

Blocking the view with our faces! 🤣

Afterward, we had late lunch at Tatang's Extra Crispy Boneless Lechon.

The Place: 6/10
It could use more lighting. I love bright places, though others might prefer it dimmer.

The Service: 8/10
A little smile goes a long way. :)

The Food: 10/10
It was incredibly crispy, tender, and perfectly salty! The vinegar was a perfect 10/10. We’ll definitely be back, but maybe for takeout.

Two posts in 2 days?  Wow! I just happened to have my laptop in the car while my husband and I are hanging out at Shell Robinsons (see my review of the place here). While he’s editing his videos for social media, I’m working on my blog.

Alright! Happy Sunday! 💛

Cancer Warriors Run 2024

In a remarkable display of determination and stamina, I recently participated in a 3km race, securing my spot with an impressive time.

NAH!!!

I was ranked 18++ in my category, I clocked in with an official time of 43 mins and a chip time of 40 mins. And, I was walking the whole time! 😂

I used to join fun runs in my 20s, but my 30s had other plans. Hello, herniated disk!😒 The doctor said running was a no-go, but that’s just one reason I stopped. The truth is, I got lazy and packed on the pounds, hitting a peak of 86 kg. Yikes! And at just 4'11.. Well, you can just imagine. Moving around felt like a chore.

Fast forward to now, I've started power walking for 30 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week during lunch breaks. I mean, our office is right next to a gym, so there’s no excuse, right? My team got me into this. This week, I’ve been swamped with a leadership training, so my walking shoes had to take a break. But next week? I’ll be back to the grind.

Anyway, here are some pics starting with the obligatory selfie!

And, our other pics taken by Jerny, with our other friends Leo and Jade!

'Til next time! Happy weekend! 💛

I Have No Title Idea (may be edited when I do)

--Shell Robinsons Mobility Station--

Man, they really need to update their Google directory information. They’re open 24 hours! Just Google "Shell Robinsons Mobility Station - Galleria Cebu City" and see for yourself.

One of the perks of my job now is understanding the importance of accurate information online. I’ve become quite tech-savvy (😜 -- NOT!). Speaking of work, it’s been a rough week, but before diving into that, I want to give a shoutout to this gas station because it's so clean! The restroom even smells like a spa. It's been my husband’s and my favorite spot since last year. Sometimes, when we wake up in the middle of the night due to our graveyard shift schedule, we head there for a very late-night or very early-morning "dinner." We just get two 3-in-1 coffees and a bag of chips, all for less than Php100. Talk about bang for your buck! Here are some of my other favorites:

Banana Custard - Php155, 3-n-1 Coffee - Php15. This used to look like the onset pic. Apologies for my photo editing skills!

Pastry Sheet with Custard (not really its name) - Php145, Bearbrand Swak mixed with Nescafe stick - Php40.

Their prices have skyrocketed. Like their Chicken Turnover, it used to be less than Php150 and now it's almost Php200. It's delish though.

So, ok. Balancing the company's needs with my team's has been like trying to juggle a dozen plates. It's challenging.  I've always understood this, but being in the thick of it is a whole different story. It's a constant dance between meeting deadlines, keeping spirits high, and ensuring everyone feels supported. They say not to take it personally, but when you care deeply about your team, it's tough not to. Right now, it just feels like my team is bearing the brunt of the negative aspects at work, which isn't fun for me as their leader.

But here’s the thing: my team’s resilience is absolutely amazing! They always find reasons to laugh and celebrate, making work not just productive but downright fun! And there I am, in my corner, listening to them, waving my invisible pom-poms, and cheering them on like a proud leader, which I am.

Wow! I thought this was going to be a "rant" blog but somehow, I'm feeling inspired instead. I guess I don't really have a reason to rant after all. Tsk.

Anyway, here are some pics we took the past days during our meetings.

Email Training Project. Thanks to one of the trainers for this pic.

Weekly Sync. Thanks to one of the trainers for this pic.

Okay, it's 7:46AM, it's a Saturday. I'm gonna go home now because the Bana's going to be home anytime soon. Always excited to spending quality time with him! 'Til next blog!
