Last Weekend

Been busy with work, and I LOVE IT! I really thrive when I’m busy. Plus, this tetta just got promoted, so I’m feeling even more inspired. 😁

The only difference between this weekend and our other weekends is that we had breakfasts with our friends. The rest, it's the same old weekend for my husband and I. Yeah, we always do the same thing (we're boring like that!): eat out, watch TV, motorcycle rides, his basketball, my long runs every Sunday, Bentang (it's separate from "eating out" because it doesn’t feel like eating out at all, more like an extension of our house, hhahaha), and my most favorite, tambay and tabi sa kapehan. :)

Anyway, here are some pics/vids:

Breakfast with Ez, Jern, and Leo at Te Amo Cafe! It was short and looking forward to next month's!. Pic from Jern.

Motorcycle ride to Busay. I LOVED THE WIND. This is my husband’s therapy, and I’m so happy to support it, because I love it too!

With my husband’s teammates. We had breakfast at Humba Heaven. The view is amazing, and the food is good and sinful. I ate but didn’t finish the rice. I mean, one unhealthy meal won’t kill me, right? Anyway, I always love hanging out with my husband’s teammates. These young people could be my kids, but they’re super fun!

My supposed 20k long run that I didn’t finish because I started late and it was already so hot at 6:30. Anyway, I love this run because I actually ran from Pooc, Talisay to Il Corso, ON THE HIGHWAY! It’s a different experience, and I love it. My husband was tailing me on his motorcycle, like a guard, hahahaha.

We stopped at Il Corso, and I ran there for a while. I loved the view and the wind, but after a few back-and-forths, it already felt like running on a treadmill, which is blah.

Breakfast at McDonald’s Il Corso. First time trying the Cheesy McMuffin, and I love it! I tasted pesto, so I’m not sure if that’s the sauce they’re using.

I’m sooo sooo happy that my husband joined their company’s basketball league! He used to be a varsity player in high school, so he looooves the game. I mean, if you’ve been reading my blog, I’m sure you can already tell.
Anyway, here's his rebound! He’s worked hard on his cardio, and now he can actually run back and forth on the court without feeling like he’s dying. So happy for him and so proud! 💕

My husband’s basketball team. Yup, only five of them showed up for this game, no substitutions for this bunch. They lost, obviously, but it was still a good game!

My favorite person to hang out with! 💕

Alright, gotta go! 'Til next blog! 💛

Review: Seargao Seaview Cafe

Yesterday, my husband and I went to short drive to Argao for the christening of Amor and Ian’s adorable daughter, Pau-pau. Ian is one of my husband’s closest friends from college, and every time they reconnect, it’s like watching him light up with memories and joy. I always enjoy these moments when he gets to reminisce about his past, it’s like seeing a different side of him, full of youthful energy. Also, it doesn't hurt that Amor and Ian’s girls were beyond adorable. Aberdeen, their older daughter, was glued to her phone. I honestly couldn’t stop smiling at how seriously she was into it. Oh, and the food? DELISH. Filipino parties always know how to hit the spot.

Fast forward to the drive home, and we were both feeling the post-lunch sleepies so we needed a caffeine fix ASAP. Enter Seargao Seaview Café, a total accidental discovery that turned into a highlight of our day. We rolled in expecting a quick coffee, but wow, did we luck out!  Surrounded by lush trees and overlooking the sea, it was exactly what we needed for a quick break. We chose to sit outside, close to nature, where the soft breeze and the scent of the ocean and leaves made the experience even more peaceful. It was total zen vibes.

Here’s my review:

The Place: 10/10
Green, clean, and silent. What more could you want?

The Service: 10/10
The waiter deserves an award. I casually mentioned I was parched, and the dude brought me an entire pitcher of water. Like, yes please! Talk about above-and-beyond service.

The Drinks: 10/10
We had Mango Graham Shake, Iced Tea, and Caramel Macchiato that had a surprise touch of cinnamon (which I looovee on coffee). All were delish. I may or may not have been eyeing their food menu, and trust me, we are coming back for that!

Here are our pics (warning, there's a lot!)

So what started as a quick trip for a christening turned into a day full of adorable kiddos, amazing food, and a new favorite café by the sea. It’s days like this that remind me how much fun it is to just go with the flow and that coffee by the ocean with the hubs is the best kind of reset.

Pan de Sal, (not) Coffee, and Rumblings

It's been ages since I chilled alone at a coffee shop. Today, I'm here while my hubby and his team are digging into Korean BBQ nearby. Can you believe I passed that up? Yep, this week has been a total drag, and I just don't feel like people-ing, so I skipped out on my favorite Korean BBQ joint.

Man, CBTL isn't cheap! Look at this:

This "meal" cost me Php290. The pan de sal with a dab of chicken pomodoro was alright, but nothing to rave about.

Anyway, something hit me hard recently. Many years ago, I gave my Papa a pillow. It slipped my mind until my Mama shared a pic of it in our family chat.

My father was murdered 13 years ago. We were super tight, and though the pain never truly fades, I've learned to cope. Sometimes, memories of that tragic moment sneak up on me. That pillow my Mama shared is a reminder of the strong bond I had with my Papa. He is indeed the best ever! I miss him.

I am proud of my parents. They didn't finish school due to poverty, but they hustled hard. With help from friends, they started a business, hustling to give us a good education. Their best gift? They raised us to be tough cookies who cherish each other. I hate to sound like a sitcom, but my sibs are my ride-or-die. They're wild (crazy!) and keep me grounded. Needless to say, I miss my family sooooo much!

Stronger together!

Alright, I'm going to wrap up what's left of my (not) coffee and get on with my day, keeping in mind the lessons of resilience, love, and the significance of family ties. Oh, and just so you know, I polished off that pan de sal while I was writing the first paragraph. Hahahahaha!

Have a great weekend, everyone! My husband's going to be here soon!
