Pan de Sal, (not) Coffee, and Rumblings

It's been ages since I chilled alone at a coffee shop. Today, I'm here while my hubby and his team are digging into Korean BBQ nearby. Can you believe I passed that up? Yep, this week has been a total drag, and I just don't feel like people-ing, so I skipped out on my favorite Korean BBQ joint.

Man, CBTL isn't cheap! Look at this:

This "meal" cost me Php290. The pan de sal with a dab of chicken pomodoro was alright, but nothing to rave about.

Anyway, something hit me hard recently. Many years ago, I gave my Papa a pillow. It slipped my mind until my Mama shared a pic of it in our family chat.

My father was murdered 13 years ago. We were super tight, and though the pain never truly fades, I've learned to cope. Sometimes, memories of that tragic moment sneak up on me. That pillow my Mama shared is a reminder of the strong bond I had with my Papa. He is indeed the best ever! I miss him.

I am proud of my parents. They didn't finish school due to poverty, but they hustled hard. With help from friends, they started a business, hustling to give us a good education. Their best gift? They raised us to be tough cookies who cherish each other. I hate to sound like a sitcom, but my sibs are my ride-or-die. They're wild (crazy!) and keep me grounded. Needless to say, I miss my family sooooo much!

Stronger together!

Alright, I'm going to wrap up what's left of my (not) coffee and get on with my day, keeping in mind the lessons of resilience, love, and the significance of family ties. Oh, and just so you know, I polished off that pan de sal while I was writing the first paragraph. Hahahahaha!

Have a great weekend, everyone! My husband's going to be here soon!
